UNDERCODE was formed in Zagreb, Croatia, back in 1997 by Australian born Damien Dee. In 2002 the band released their debut album “Enlightening The World” which quickly gained a cult status among many European heavy metal fans. Gamers from around the world also discovered the band’s music by playing the popular first-person shooter game “Serious Sam: The Second Encounter”.
Between 2002 and 2005 UNDERCODE played numerous shows and simultaneously started working on their second album. During their first few weeks of recording, Damien unexpectedly had to move back to Australia due to family commitments. While the band was in hiatus, the remaining members pursued other musical projects.
This break lasted for over 6 years, and would have probably lasted longer, had not one of the band members accidently discovered the Russian Undercode fan site. Overwhelmed by the number of fans and support they were receiving via undercode.ru, the band members were inspired and decided to release a new material as a ‘thank you’.
Undercode’s official comeback single and music video for “Final fight” was released in November of 2011. At the time it looked like a new album would finally see the light of day. Due to the unusual and uncertain times experienced by many artists in the music industry, the band decided to postpone the release while they deliberated and then negotiated with a number of record labels. After careful consideration, the band decided to form their own label UNDERCODE MUSIC to release "Enlightening the world's" follow up - “Post-Apocalyptic”.
The new album was released in 2015 and contains 10 thematic songs and three outstanding promotional music videos made in a form of a short film trilogy. The first single “DRIVEN” had its premiere on TV and YouTube on April 20th 2015.
Five years later, Mr. Sam Stone called Undercode again to join him on his new mission - Serious Sam 4. This collaboration resulted in three new songs included in the soundtrack; "Dominate The Battlefield", "Foreverwar" and "Panopticon".
In 2023. Veki, one of the original members rejoins the band, and Undercode's wrecking ball started swinging again.
